The Wallem Group was established in Shanghai 100 years ago. Today the Wallem Group Companies comprise of:
(1) Wallem Shipping provides a comprehensive and quality ship agency service throughout the Far East for all types of vessels, with representative offices in the major mainland China ports, Japan, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
(2) Wallem Shipbroking, supported by the overseas offices, provides a full range of services covering all aspects of broking.
(3) Wallem Services Limited - Shipping Investment Division specialises in packaging of investment between fund manager and shipowner, includes commercial management supported by Wallem Shipbroking and Wallem Shipmanagement.
(4) Wallem Shipmanagement, founded in 1971, manages 100 vessels totalling 8,700,000 DWT. Every type of vessel is managed from tugs to the world's largest vessel, the 'Jahre Viking' at 564,000 DWT. Services include every aspect of technical, operational and manning support from newbuilding planning and supervision to the inevitable voyage to the ship breaker.
(5) Comprehensive International Freight Forwarders Limited, established in 1972 and based in Hong Kong, is supported by its representative offices in China, Thailand and Vietnam.
(6) Electech, established in Hong Kong in 1974, is a leading marine electronics sales and service company in the region. Since 1987, it was supported by its representative offices in China and has earned an unsurpassed reputation with shipowners and shipyards alike.
(7) Asia Marine & Industrial Company, a subsidiary of Electech, was set up in 1997 to enhance services to principals and customers in the marine and industrial equipment sector.
