Description
Schiavenza's genuine Barolo DOCG has an intense pomegranate color with ruby veins. It opens with notes of matured fruits, a woody bouquet due to maturation in oak barrels, and touches of violet and rose. On the palate, the wine is dull-bodied, solid and intense with velvet, bright tannins. The refreshing acidity cleanses the palate and a dry, persistent finish drifts across the mouth. Red meat and savory matured cheeses are the best accompaniment to this masterpiece.
