HKTDC conducted surveys with 1,507 buyers and exhibitors at the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show 2026 and the Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show 2026. Respondents were cautious as to their 2026 prospects and expected that it would take one to two years before confidence was fully restored. They also saw stylish fashion jewellery and precious jewellery as the most in-demand product segments, with gold-karat yellow the preferred choice of metal.

In 2025, Hong Kong exports of fine jewellery increased by 5%, driven by the rise in precious metal prices. At the same time, exports of pearls, gemstones and rough diamonds were down 8%, while exports of imitation jewellery dropped by 26%.
