The Solera Release utilises a method common in the Spanish Sherry industry to blend spirit from different years to create a richer more complex release.

The Solera system sees the partial volume of the bottom cask, or casks, released as a batch. These casks, or in our case cask, are then topped up by casks above them in the system that hold already maturing spirit.

The benefit of this system is that each batch released will contain some percentage of whisky from each time the cask has been filled for the entire life of the system. The Old Kempton Solera Cask is a 500L Portuguese Port Cask that has been operating since 2018, it is rich and luxurious whisky ideal for matching with dessert of cigars.
