CHÂTEAU
The Vineyard Delacour has belonged to the family for more than fifteen years. Since they took over in 1995, the De La Cour Family has brought all their expertise to bear, making highly distinctive Saint Emilion. They produce increasingly high-quality wines.
The owner and his young dynamic team manage all the work at the chateau. Their unfailing commitment ensures that the estate gives the very best of itself. All their efforts and know-how are focused on tending the vineyard, vinification and on marketing the wines.
VINEYARD
- Soil: clayey and chalky
- Area: 3.5 ha
- Grape varieties: 94 % Merlot 6 % Cabernet Franc
- Average age of the vineyard: 30 years old for Merlot and 25 % for Cabernet Franc
- Type of Harvest : mechanical
- Type of Management : sustainable growing, no herbicides and natural grass cover European standard “High Environmental Value”.
VINIFICATION
- Picking : Manual sorting with quality as an objective
- Vinification : natural fermentation ; long maceration (16 days)
- Ageing : 10 months in vats
- Blending : after selection of the best batches
TASTING NOTES
- Color: Subtle red ruby colour
- Nose : Frank nose of stewed red fruits, with a toast touch and smoky notes.
- Mouth : palate is supple a fresh with closely-integrated tannins and red fruits
- aromas of redcurrant and strawberry. A kiwi note drives the finish. Lovely.
