Exhibitors’ Comments

“As part of our year-round recruitment, the Expo can help us attract more students and young people aspiring to join the police force. This year, we are showcasing again the extensive police work of our different divisions such as Police Dog unit, Marine Small Boat Unit, Traffic Police and Emergency Unit. Other divisions on display include Airport Security Unit, Crime Prevention Bureau, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Bureau, Narcotics Bureau and Identification Bureau, complete with a mini-range demonstration by Weapon Training Division. The fair provides a one-stop service platform where initial screening tests will be conducted for applicants while further written tests will be arranged. The responses are very strong and we have seen an increased number of applicants. We are very satisfied with the results.”
Mr. Francis Cheung Kwok-Wai, Chief Inspector of Police, Recruitment Division, Personnel Wing, Hong Kong Police Force

“The Expo is a crucial event for us every year. The Vocational Training Council takes the opportunity to introduce our rich resources and promote our innovative teaching approach as well as a vibrant campus life to students. We have put on display a number of outstanding works from our students. There is a particular highlight of our new bachelor degree programmes under the Technological and Higher Education Institution of Hong Kong. Our diverse programmes in different member institutions are attracting students, undergraduates as well as people in the job market.”
Ms. Fennie Wong, Marketing Manager, External Relations Office, Vocational Training Council, Hong Kong

“We have been participating in the Expo since 2000. The fair really helps us extend our exposure effectively. This year, we are especially promoting our new membership types – associate member and affiliate member - to attract more youngsters and students. The new membership types are designed to increase exchanges and help practitioners with less industry experience and non-practitioners develop a career in the fast-paced financial and securities industry. The feedback is very positive and we have already received some new member applications. The results are very encouraging.”
Mr. Teddie Chung, Senior Manager and Head of Membership, Hong Kong Securities Institute, Hong Kong

“Studying in Germany may not be the first choice among Hong Kong students pursuing further education abroad. But we have witnessed an increased interest over the years. Last year alone, we received about 40 per cent more enquiries from students and their parents interested in both bachelor and master programmes. Studying in Germany is attractive also because of the relatively lower costs in government-aided universities, which range from zero to less than 500 Euros a semester. The response has been better than expected this year. We have been swamped by a number of students.”
Ms. Cassandra S.S. Hung, Education Officer, German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), Hong Kong

“I am studying aircraft design and will graduate at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in the Chinese mainland this year. The Expo is a very interesting exhibition. I am here to find further education information and explore the opportunities of studying mechanical engineering in Hong Kong, the US and Australia. I know some people who have studied in Hong Kong and they have learnt a lot through the programmes. That’s why I have confidence in Hong Kong education.”
Mr. William Yao, Student, Chinese Mainland

“The Expo is a very comprehensive and informative exhibition. I can find everything about further education locally and abroad. I am a Form Six student. I have collected a lot of information and materials about higher education opportunities in local, overseas and Chinese mainland educational institutions such as Vocational Training Council, HKUSPACE, HKIEd School of Continuing and Professional Education Ltd. and Jinan University. It is a very rewarding visit to learn more and plan for my future studies.”
Mr. Chang Pok Hin, Student, Hong Kong

"The Expo is a very comprehensive exhibition. It is a good show and I visit the fair every one or two years. After about nine years of working in the IT field, I am now looking for opportunities to switch to other professions. The Expo offers a convenient and useful one-stop platform for me to find information about the latest job vacancies in different fields in both private and public sectors. I like visiting the fair to meet people face to face. Here, I can get in touch with people and organisations that are keen to recruit staff so that I can really feel the pulse of the market."
Mr. Joe Cheung, Job Seeker, Hong Kong

“I come from Italy and live in Hong Kong now. I am currently running a small business offering management consultancy and advisory services, particularly in relation to the business of luxury brands. This is my first visit to the Expo. I am here looking for a job in business management for further career development. The fair looks really good and professional. I have met a few business organisations and we expect to get into further discussions later on.”
Mr. Daniele Fraboschi, Job Seeker, Hong Kong

“I am a Form Six student looking for further education opportunities in the Chinese mainland particularly. This is my first-ever visit to the Expo and I am very impressed with the scale of exhibition and the strong presence of local and overseas educational institutions. I believe studying in one of the Chinese mainland universities will provide a good prospect. I have found a lot of useful information to prepare my future.”
Ms. Karen Chan, Student, Hong Kong
