1. Jasmine Rice:
Jasmine Rice is a kind of fragrant and soft rice with a short growing period. Jasmine rice is currently widely grown in popularity, accounting for the largest area in the total rice growing area of Vietnam. 3. Japonica Rice:
Japonica is super-premium short-grain rice originating from Japan and now it was cultivated in the fertile alluvial fields in the Mekong Delta. People love Japonica rice because of its unique stickiness, tender texture, sweet flavor, and natural aroma. It was supposed to be perfect for Oriental and Japanese cuisine.
4. Glutinous Rice
Glutinous rice is also called "sweet rice" because of its taste. It has a sweeter taste than regular white rice, which is why it works so well in dessert recipes. But mainly, it is prized for its chewy and sticky texture. This kind of glutinous rice is grown in Long An and several other provinces in the Mekong Delta. With the fat grain, Long An glutinous rice is favored to make some traditional Vietnamese cuisine like Chung Cake, Tet Cake, etc.
