Shirley Kwok, who grew up in Malaysia and relocated to Hong Kong at a young age, is a dedicated mother and the founder of White Owl Group in Hong Kong. Transitioning from a decade-long career in banking to becoming a baker, Shirley's incredible journey is marked by persistence and determination.

Her passion for baking blossomed after the birth of her first daughter when she found herself wanting to create the most health-forward version of traditional treats for her family. Encouraged by her loved ones, she progressed from baking for pleasure to launching The Cakery pop-up shop at Landmark in 2016. Despite her lack of experience in the food industry, Shirley successfully established her business through resilience and dedication. The business now includes four recognised The Cakery stores as premier wellness-forward bakeries in Hong Kong. Her ability to balance work and family life has made her an inspiration to other mothers.

Shirley's commitment to sustainability and creating a lasting impact led to the inception of KIRR (Keeping It Real & Raw) in 2019, an e-commerce platform aiming to establish an authentic sustainable marketplace for plant-based food, skincare, and sustainable fashion. Most recently, Shirley launched MAYA, a vegan bakery and bar concept in Quarry Bay, and Cultured, a fermented cheese brand.

In 2023, Shirley announced the creation of the White Owl Group, an F&B group housing all her businesses, firmly rooted in sustainable principles including eco-friendly lifestyle products and educational initiatives. Shirley stands as an inspiration for those embracing sustainable lifestyles. Under her visionary leadership, White Owl Group prioritizes sustainability and a more eco-conscious future, curating various concepts embedded in sustainable principles encompassing eco-friendly lifestyle products and educational endeavors. The group puts an emphasis on waste reduction and adopting sustainable approaches to food production and consumption.
