Wuchang rice, which grows on black soil, is one of the three major black soils in the world. It has long sunshine hours throughout the year, a long frost free period, and one season of rice per year, which allows for longer incubation. It is irrigated by river water, with high water temperature and rich in trace elements, which is conducive to the accumulation of nutrients in rice. The quality of rice is consistent, with plump and slender grains, clean and free of impurities, and comes with a primitive light aroma. It is soft, glutinous and sweet when eaten.
