Attendance the highest to date; industry players expect overall sales to remain unchanged or increase
Over 90,000 buyers from 141 countries and regions attended the sixth HKTDC Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show and the 36th HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show, both organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC)
With the support of the Japan External Trade Organisation and the Consulate-General of Japan in Hong Kong, and in collaboration with the Japan Pearl Exporters’ Association and the Japan Pearl Promotion Society, the HKTDC invited Japan as this year’s partner country for the first time. The associations set up pavilions at the two shows and held a press event showcasing exquisite pearls and pearl jewellery from Japan
The Jewellery Gala Dinner held on the first night of the Jewellery Show (28 February) featured models and artistes showcasing exquisite jewellery from different exhibitors
The “Hong Kong Fei Cui Design Biennial Contest” Launch Ceremony was held during the Jewellery Show with artiste Louisa Mak in attendance
During the two shows, the HKTDC organised a series of events to promote industry exchange, including seminars on jewellery technology, marketing strategies and quality standards, together with buyer forums, jewellery parades and networking receptions
