The 4-day event will attract over 800 organisations from 20 countries and regions to participate, including educational institutions, professional associations, government departments, public organisations and private companies, making the Expo an information hub for education and careers development.</td></tr><tr><td> </td></tr><tr><td>Practical Tips on Education</td></tr><tr><td> </td></tr><tr><td>The Education Zone housed various universities, higher education institutions and professional organisations, including the Vocational Training Council (VTC), Hong Kong Shue Yan University, and the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, etc. The Expo also welcomes exhibitors from the professional industry such as Hong Kong Institute of Construction, Hong Kong School of Animation &amp; Visual Effects, Raffles International College and Medical Doorway. Visitors can get information on how to pursue their academic goals, continue their studies or embark on the path of professional education.</td></tr><tr><td> </td></tr><tr><td>Moreover, the “Creative and Educational Support Services” Zone introduces visitors with interesting and diverse learning programmes, such as the Houston Association for Space and Science Education (HASSE) presented by iACL Pacific Limited, and various pre-university courses on design, art and architecture offered by Swiss Art Studio.</td></tr><tr><td> </td></tr><tr><td>On the Education Theme Days, in-depth introductions on studying in the United States (25 Jan) and Europe (26 Jan) will be provided. Representatives from U.S. Consulate General Hong Kong &amp; Macau and European Union Office to Hong Kong and Macao will host seminars to highlight the pre-requisites of admission, necessary documents, timeline for applications, campus life and more. This year, Education in Ireland will join the new “Continuing Education” Zone, to promote Irish Higher Education Institutions and provide students and parents with detailed information on studying in Ireland.</td></tr><tr><td> </td></tr><tr><td>With strong presence of Consulate General offices and officially recognised bodies at the Expo, the “International Exchange Village” will return this year and provide visitors with onsite consultation services on studying and working overseas. Participating CG offices include Austria, Bangladesh, Czech Republic, Hungary, Iran, Japan, Korea, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, the United States and more.</td></tr><tr><td> </td></tr><tr><td>Career Theme Days: Stay Ahead of Market Trends</td></tr><tr><td> </td></tr><tr><td>The Careers Zone staged respective theme days in parallel to highlight employment trends of relevant industries — Culinary Arts (24 Jan), supported by Chinese Culinary Institute &amp; International Culinary Institute; Exploring Construction (25 Jan), co-organised by Hong Kong Institute of Construction; as well as Tech &amp; Creativity (26 Jan) brought by Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute Company Limited. Government departments, disciplined services and public institutions will join hands to introduce various openings and recruitment details on the Civil and Public Services theme day on fair’s last day (27 Jan). Airport Authority Hong Kong and West Kowloon Cultural District Authority will also provide entry requirements for careers in respective service sectors, as well as professional posts in the organisations.</td></tr><tr><td> </td></tr><tr><td>New Recruitment Square; Close to 100 on-site events</td></tr><tr><td> </td></tr><tr><td><div>The brand new “Recruitment Square” cooperates with recruitment platforms, such as South China Morning Post and Freshlinker, giving visitors with abundant job information from private sector organisations. Some organisations will arrange on-site interview for applicants. In the 2018 edition, employers included Asia Airfreight Terminal Co Ltd, JOS and Innovix, Prudential Hong Kong Ltd, SATS HK Limited, The Dairy Farm Company Ltd and more; various government departments such as Hong Kong Police Force, Hong Kong Fire Services Department, Immigration Department, Hong Kong Correctional Services Department, Marine Department and Airport Authority Hong Kong will also offer job opportunities on-site, featuring more than 2,000 job vacancies. Job seekers may bring their resumes for on-the-spot job application.</div></td></tr><tr><td> </td></tr><tr><td>The Youth Zone will continue to gather various institutions to offer internship programmes and employment to teenagers, helping youngsters understand the job prospects in different industries and identify careers that best suit their talent and interests.</td></tr><tr><td> </td></tr><tr><td><div>Close to 100 events will be organised during the Expo. A number of star speakers are taking part in the Expo, including e-sports champion presented by Emperor Esports Stars, G-Rex PUBG’s team manager Lo Sing; representative from video sharing platform Manner; the novel writers, Sapeiar and BlueGodZi; star tutor Jayden Lam Yat Yan and workplace consultant Dr. SUEN Lap-man. Besides, education seminar series will cover practical tips on taking examinations and information on pursing studies overseas. A series of Working Holiday related seminars will highlight the application requirements and job opportunities.</div></td></tr></tbody></table>
