This is our second time participating in the Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition). Last year, the fair generated HK$1 million in revenue for our company. That’s why we have tripled the size of our booth at this year’s fair. To look for new business partners, we are showcasing our new products and new projects including ClickBook Resource Booking System with E-ink Display, Click Radar Occupancy Checking, Smart Infrastructure and Inno-healthcare Elderly Health & Safety Smart Monitoring System. Just a few hours after the opening of the fair, we have received more than 100 enquiries from quality buyers who are interested in our solutions. With the introduction of the ‘0+3’ quarantine measure, we are happy to have met with overseas buyers from France, Japan and Mainland China. The HKTDC has also enhanced our exposure in the local market greatly. We are satisfied with the results so far.

We are a startup that creates Qoolmate – your future ice pack. By utilising thermal thick film integrated circuit, Qoolmate can shrink pores, stop itching and relieve pain. This is our first time participating in the Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) to look for buyers, distributors, wholesalers and investors. This physical show is very important to us because buyers can see and touch our products. So far, we have made more than 100 new contacts with retailers, wholesalers and gift buyers not only from Hong Kong but also from Europe, Japan, Korea, Mainland China and the US. A Japanese buyer has decided to buy 500 sets of Qoolmate, reflecting that this new product has huge market potential. However, we cannot sell this product at this moment because we are still applying for product safety certification.

Xingtel started to participate in the Hong Kong Electronics Fair in 1998. Currently, our main products include telephones, outdoor waterproof speakers with an IP67 rating and auto-follow golf carts. The Hong Kong Electronics Fair provides an ideal platform for us to maintain our relationships with customers, to enhance our brand awareness and to introduce our latest designs. We have met with some new buyers from Australia and North America who like our outdoor waterproof speakers very much because of their new designs, waterproof function and excellent sound quality. We expect that three new buyers will place orders for our products and the fair can generate US$100,000 in sales turnover to our company. Through the HKTDC’s Click2Match service, we’ll have online meetings with more than 10 overseas buyers from France, Japan, Korea, Malaysia and North America. The fair’s results have exceeded our expectations.

TOUCHBeauty is a UK brand for home-use beauty devices which are sold in 90 countries and regions. We have been participating in the Hong Kong Electronics Fair since 2003. The fair has helped us establish a quality customer base and get OEM orders from famous brands. At this year’s fair, we are showcasing our new products including regen hair growth combs, eye beauty devices and electric nose hair trimmers. We have met with about 100 quality buyers from Europe, Indonesia and Japan who are very interested in our innovative products and our new technologies. We are happy to see that buyers’ responses are much better than last year and many of them have asked for our samples. We’ll also attend online meetings with overseas buyers via the Click2Match platform. Our main goal is to transform and upgrade traditional products into innovative electronic products. The Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) provides an excellent opportunity for us to reach out to overseas buyers and to introduce our new products to them. At this year’s fair, we are showcasing various new products, such as AI cameras for face recognition and voice typing/translation, AI speakers with noise reduction, and smart backpacks with LED display. We have got in touch with buyers from ASEAN and Europe who are particularly interested in our smart backpacks. We announced the soft launch of our gesture-controlled smart watches in 2020 and hope to launch a more user-friendly model in the first quarter of 2023. This is our first-time participation in the Startup Zone at the Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) to introduce our smart watches. By using our unique AI algorithm, our smart watch becomes a gesture controller that can control a smart TV, PowerPoint presentation, and more. We are looking for agents and investors at the fair. We have met with buyers from Hong Kong, Korea and Poland and received positive feedback. We expect two to three buyers from Hong Kong and overseas will cooperate with us. We’ll participate in the fair in April next year and hope that the Hong Kong Government will lift all the inbound travel restrictions.

It is authorised as the genuine security system supplier for many world-renowned car brands. I am looking for spare parts for our production machines, soldering equipment, batteries for DSRC transceivers and microcontrollers at the Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition). I have found six new suppliers mainly from Mainland China. I have decided to buy 40,000 pieces of batteries for DSRC transceivers per year from one of the new suppliers and place an order for US$2 million worth of microcontrollers with another new supplier. As production takes time, microcontrollers will be delivered to our company 50 weeks later. Thanks to the Hong Kong Government’s ‘0+3’ quarantine measure, I am happy to attend the Hong Kong Electronics Fair where I have found new business partners and met with my existing suppliers.

I have decided to visit the Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) because I always need to find new and unique products to attract consumers. Normally, I add 70-80 new products to our catalogues every month. At the fair, I have found 5-10 potential suppliers of smart home solutions and power stations mostly from Mainland China. I’ll have further negotiations with them and it’ll take two to three months for us to finalise our orders. The size of our trial order is 1,000-3,000 pieces.

Hong Kong’s removal of mandatory hotel quarantine for overseas arrivals is a good news for me. It is easier for me to visit the Hong Kong Electronics Fair and the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair in order to fulfil my sourcing needs. At the two fairs, I have found five to six potential OEM manufacturers of LED lights, USB fans and earphones from Hong Kong and Mainland China. In view of the implementation of the ‘0+3’ arrangement, I have decided to attend the Symposium on Innovation & Technology in person to share with the audience the tech trends shaping the future of cities. Connectivity is across three domains – on-site computing, cloud computing and edge computing. We see edge computing is growing fast. Securing the perimeter of a network is obsolete given the millions of interconnected devices and systems. A new approach to security is needed, and zero trust networks have emerged as the standard. A big trend for us is to authenticate. When we look at video surveillance and how it is used in cities like Hong Kong, there are three areas, namely safety, efficiency and monitoring the environment. An example is the use of cameras in the Big Tree Animal Sanctuary and Adoption Centre in Hong Kong to detect wildfire. Listening to different views from different speakers at the symposium is inspiring. I am happy to see that the tech fairs look busy.
