Organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and CIEC Exhibition Company (HK) Limited, the 11th Hong Kong International Printing &amp; Packaging Fair will be running from 27 -30 April at the AsiaWorld-Expo. This year, the fair is expecting over 430 exhibitors to present a wide assortment of printing and packaging products and services and will continue to be the ideal one-stop platform for trade and information exchange. Well-rounded Thematic Zones Hinged on the interests of industry players, 10 thematic zones were especially designed in the fair. Here, buyers from their respective areas of expertise will find the perfect arena that facilitates effective face-to-face interaction with their prospective business partners. The designated zones represented in the fair include Printing Services, Packaging Services, Food &amp; Beverage Packaging Solutions, Printing Consumables &amp; Packaging Materials, Printing &amp; Packaging Equipment, Digital Printing Equipment, Integrated Pre-press &amp; Trade Services and Integrated Packaging Solutions. In view of the burgeoning demand for premium products and the going green trend, both the De Luxe Zone and Green Printing &amp; Packaging Solutions returns this year with an expanded area to encompass a wider array of high quality and eco-friendly products. Smart Indicator labels Aside from purposes like product identification and inventory tracking and management, labels today can even be used as a safety indicator. R&amp;C Printing Products Solutions Limited puts forward the patented Timestrip® Label that is favourable for products with a limited lifespan, such as toothbrushes and filters. The time lapse will be shown after activation to remind users of the expiry date. Timestrip® PLUS, on the other hand, allows the detection of how long a product has been exposed to excess temperature by showing irreversibly the breaches accumulated.  It is recommended to be used on the transportation and storage of food and pharmaceutical products. Comprehensive Eco-friendly Recycle System Not only does the sustainability concept within products brings about positive brand effects, but the potential to save production costs by adopting it is clearly noticeable too. Given that solvent is commonly used in the printing process, Global Printing Machines Co., a Taiwan exhibitor, grasped the opportunity to unveil its comprehensive re-cycle system. The fully computerized system can separate water, waste materials and solvents from blanket and roller wash, thus allowing various types of solvents to be re-used at one touch. Coupled with its capability to work at a low temperature and pressure, the system helps to save costs and waive pollutants in a safe and convenient manner. Latest Anti-counterfeiting System On top of protecting intellectual property rights, anti-counterfeiting labels can serve as a value-adding feature to enhance buyers’ confidence towards products. By adopting the latest digital and cloud computing technologies, Hong Kong Security Printing Limited introduces its patented CertEasy® Anti-counterfeit System. By using its free smartphone app “CertEasy®”, users can verify a product instantly via the Near Field Communication (NFC) Smart Label or Encrypted Quick Respond (QR) Code Label attached to the product. The system also allows advertising, customer registration and other customised functions to cater to specific corporate needs. Cutting-edge 3D Printing Technology Advanced technology has allowed printing not merely on plane and paper, and the growing application of 3D printing technology has brought forth revolutionary changes to the industry. It can be applied across the consumer goods industry, automotive industry, medical and healthcare industry and even the aviation industry. Thus, the inaugural 3D Printing Display will showcase a series of top-notch 3D printers, materials and related technologies. One example is 3D Creative Multimedia (HK) Ltd which will showcase  its 1:43 3D printed architectural miniature. Seminars on Latest Market Trend and Technology Under the combined efforts of HKTDC and co-organizers, multiples of seminars will be held to spell out the latest trends in the printing and packaging industry. Seminars on topics such as “The Latest Deluxe Packaging Solutions”, “How To Pick Your Digital Press?” and “Real Time Data Management and Cleaner Production” complements one another. The 3D Printing Workshop will make an appearance at the fair to give live demonstrations on how 3D printing technologies can combine with designs to deliver unique products. Networking receptions will also be organized for business gathering to provide chances to step forward into the global market.
