Kunzan Kobo Big Arare-pattern Satetsu (Iron Sand) Tetsubin

A new creation by Sasaki Kazuo, the third-generation master artisan of Kunzan Kobo and a certified Japanese "Traditional Craftsman." This 900 cc small iron kettle features Onimen (demon face) lug rings and a beautifully crafted handle, exuding nobility and exquisite refinement.

Made from newly sourced Nambu iron sand, the kettle gleams with a brilliant luster. Each individual arare (hailstone) bump shines spectacularly, looking as if it has been meticulously polished with sandpaper to catch the light.

When tapped, it produces a crisp, clear, and resonant metallic ring, a testament to the premium quality of the ore. Water boiled in this kettle tastes exceptionally pure, smooth, and mellow.

As raw iron sand becomes increasingly scarce, works from this studio made with satetsu are becoming rarer and more precious by the day.
