Official Freight Forwarder for Duty-Exemption Services

Under the current regulations of Hong Kong, all liquors with over 30% alcohol are dutiable items with 100% duty. The duty rate for liquor with an import price of over $200 are reduced from 100% to 10% for the portion above $200, while the duty rate for the portion of $200 and below, as well as liquor with an import price of $200 or below will remain unchanged with 100%. Exemptions from duty on liquors can only be granted when the liquors are deemed to be samples or advertising matter with no commercial value and not intended for re-sale. HKTDC Hong Kong International Wine &amp; Spirits Fair (HKIWSF) has appointed a freight forwarder – Global Net International Logistics Co Ltd to take care of the duty exemptions of hard liquor carried by overseas exhibitors (hereafter “participants of the duty exemption arrangement”) once they enter Hong Kong SAR’s territory for HKTDC Hong Kong International Wine and Spirits Fair (HKIWSF) 2025. Customs will conduct inspection at the fairground during fair period. It is therefore compulsory for exhibitors carrying exhibits with 30% alcoholic content to apply for this duty exemption arrangement unless they agree to pay corresponding duty while entering the HKSAR territory.
