Mr Herbert Chia was born in Hong Kong. He received education in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia; He also engaged in advanced studies at the University of New South Wales, Stanford University, INSEAD, and Economics and Management School of Tsinghua University. Now he is the Honorary Doctor of Lincoln University and the Honorary Fellow of Canadian Chartered Institute of Business Administration. Mr Chia has been made great efforts to promote the development of big data and artificial intelligence industries and he is currently a member of Hong Kong Zhi Gong Party Association.

For the past ten years, Mr Chia has been living in Mainland China and Hong Kong. With multicultural living environment, international education background and abundant Internet Industry working experience, Mr Chia forms a unique and keen thinking method. Over these years, he has devoted himself to researching of SMEs development in the Internet industry. He is a future trend spectator and has unique insights into the future trends of e-commerce. He is also a master trainer and a columnist.

Mr Chia have joined Alibaba in August 2010 and served as the Vice President of Alibaba (China) Co, Ltd and the Chairman of its Data Committee. During his tenure, the team was awarded "China Excellent IT Team" in "Excellent Chinese CIO" selection. In addition, he was also rated as “China Top 10 Most Influential Big Data Entrepreneurs” in 2017 by the State Information Center. Now, as a globally recognized pioneer of big data, Mr Chia attributes his success to the passion for innovation and the comprehension of industrial data requirements.

Frank Coles is known as a disruptor and visionary business leader, who has been leading the maritime industry into the new technology-driven world.

Starting off as a deck officer after 12 years at sea Frank came ashore as a Master Mariner. He read for a LLM in Legal Aspects of Maritime Affairs from Cardiff University, Wales.

In 1995, Frank started as an Operations Director at Pacific Basin Bulk Shipping. During this period Pacific Basin had invested in Rydex, the leading company at the time in email software for maritime communications. Frank became CEO of Rydex while continuing in the operations role with PB.

During 1998-1999, Frank was a Vice President Business Development at Sperry Marine. In 1999, Frank took on the role of Chief Operating Officer at Globe Wireless, where in 2003 he had been appointed CEO, President, and board member.

Between 2011 and 2014 Frank worked at Inmarsat. Joining as a Director in 2011, by the end of the year, Frank had been promoted to President of the newly formed Inmarsat Maritime business unit.

In 2015, Frank Coles became the CEO of Transas, a world leader in high-tech equipment, software and system integration for the maritime industry. Transas was acquired by Wartsila Corporation in May 2018. After the transaction was complete, Frank left Wartsila.

Frank was headhunted to join the Wallem Group as Chief Executive Officer in October 2018. He has set an agenda of renewing the brand, and a path and vision for Wallem to be the leading provider of technology-driven maritime solutions in a customer-centric and transparent manner.

Frank is a Freeman of the Honourable Company of Master Mariners. He also is a trustee of the Nautical Institute as well as a Fellow of the Nautical Institute.

He subsequently worked for Credit Suisse prior to joining H Clarkson & Co in London as a shipbroker in 2002 and relocating to Clarkson Asia Ltd in Hong Kong later that year. During his time at Clarkson Asia Ltd he worked in various roles as a chartering broker, sale and purchase broker and for the group’s in-house shipowing and logistics arm. In 2006, William left Clarksons as a Co-founder and Director of Mandarin Shipping Limited. In 2016 William joined the board of Wah Kwong Maritime Transport Holdings Limited and was appointed Chief Commercial Officer before taking on the role of Managing Director for the group’s shipowning activities in 2019.

Ms Margaret Fong is the Executive Director of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) since 1 October 2014. With a global network of 50 offices, Ms Fong heads this international team whose mission is to create and facilitate opportunities in global trade for Hong Kong-based companies. She joined the HKTDC in 2010 as Deputy Executive Director, responsible for the international promotion of Hong Kong’s product and service industries and the Council’s office network worldwide.

Ms Fong has worked in a variety of public service posts, beginning her career as an Administrative Officer with the Hong Kong Government. From 1997 to 1999, she served as Deputy Director-General in the Washington Economic and Trade Office of the Hong Kong SAR Government.

She was Deputy Secretary for Transport from 1999 to 2004, Director-General of the Washington Economic and Trade Office from 2004 to 2006, and Commissioner for Economic and Trade Affairs, USA, from 2006 to 2008, representing the Hong Kong SAR Government in the United States. Before joining the HKTDC, Ms Fong was the Commissioner for Tourism from November 2008 to December 2009. She is a graduate of the University of Hong Kong.

Ms Fong is a member of the Aviation Development and Three-runway System Advisory Committee, the Film Development Council, the Hong Kong Maritime and Port Board, the Hong Kong Logistics Development Council and the Hong Kong Tourism Board.

Ms Ho current position is the Principal Consultant for GS1 Hong Kong, a worldwide supply chain standards body, leading the professional services team to provide supply chain and logistics management trainings, manage APEC or local government supply chain initiatives as well as provide business consultation services. Ms Ho is also a Part-time lecturer for Hong Kong University and Vocation Training Council on International Logistics & Supply Chain Management.

Since 90s, Ms Ho has set up Asia Pacific supply chain function for various multi-national corporations. She has introduced supply chain strategies from network balancing, production optimization, value-added logistics and efficient consumer response to corporations. Ms Ho is currently leading GS1 professional services team, has trained over 1000 trainees over years, spoke over hundreds events on modern logistics and supply chain for government, industry associations or companies, managed over hundreds of projects from government to individual company across countries.

Ms Ho obtained Master Degree in Industrial Logistics, Degree in Management, SCOR-P, CSCP Certification, PMP, Registered Lean Master, Accredited Global Traceability Auditor, Authorized Global Traceability Global Trainer. Ms Ho is also core members of ECR Hong Kong Advisory Board, Food & Beverage Industry Advisory Board, Government’s Trade Consultation Group and Consumer Liaison Group, Food Safety Consortium, Trade Advisor for Trade Industry Department (SUCCESS) and Trade Advisor for Trade Development Council (SME).

Bjorn Hojgaard is the CEO of Anglo-Eastern Univan Group, one of the world’s foremost ship management companies, headquartered in Hong Kong, with more than 600 vessels under full technical management, another 200+ under crew management, and some 450 supervised newbuildings and conversions to its credit.

His appointment follows the 2015 merger with Univan Ship Management, where he was also CEO. Previously, he was Managing Director at Thome Ship Management, Brigantine Group and A.P. Moller Singapore, as well as Manager of Operations, Efficiency & IT for APM Terminals.

A keen yachtsman and Master Mariner, Bjorn worked his way up through the ranks, from military service in the Royal Danish Navy to Captain of one of the largest container vessels in the A.P. Moller - Maersk merchant fleet, before moving into shore-side management.

Bjorn is the current serving Deputy Chairman of the Hong Kong Shipowners Association and a council member of INTERTANKO, in addition to holding other notable roles at various industry and professional bodies.

Tim Huxley is the Chairman of Mandarin Shipping Limited, a Hong Kong based shipping investment company. Mr Huxley has spent the whole of his working life in the shipping industry, initially joining Clarksons, the world’s leading shipbroking and shipping services company, in 1982 as a graduate trainee and subsequently spending twenty four years with the company, the majority in Hong Kong. In 2006, Mr Huxley established Mandarin Shipping Limited prior to taking on the role of CEO at Wah Kwong between 2008 - 2016.

Mr Huxley is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers and a former Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Shipowners Association.

Dr Patrick Lau is Deputy Executive Director of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC). In this role, Dr Lau helps create opportunities and facilitates deals for Hong Kong businesses. His portfolio includes the HKTDC’s work on the Belt and Road Initiative, product and service promotion, external relations, corporate communications and marketing, as well as the organisation’s network of 50 offices worldwide.

Dr Lau has diverse experience in executive management, business development, commercial law, funds and investment banking, covering a range of sectors including property, telecom infrastructure, technology and life sciences, among others.

From 2001 to 2014, Dr Lau was based in Hong Kong where he first worked at international law firms Baker McKenzie and Skadden Arps, and later entered investment banking at UBS AG and China Construction Bank (CCB) International where his last post held was as Managing Director, Head of Mergers & Acquisitions and Assistant Head of Investment Bank.

Prior to joining the HKTDC in 2019, Dr Lau was the CEO of a digital infrastructure company, Director of Investments at the Malaysian Government's sovereign wealth fund Khazanah Nasional, and Board Director and Investment Committee Member of venture and private equity fund Xeraya Capital. He has successfully handled numerous commercial transactions, joint ventures, restructurings and capital market exercises, and is recognised as a seasoned banker, investor and dealmaker in the region. He has deep knowledge of Hong Kong, Mainland China and ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) markets and has also worked with many clients and parties from Europe, the Americas and Middle East.

Dr Lau graduated with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery and Bachelor of Laws degrees with first-class honours from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, where he attended medical school and law school concurrently. He has been admitted as an advocate or solicitor in Hong Kong, Australia, England, Wales and Malaysia. He was Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Business and Economics of Monash University and part-time Lecturer at the Law Faculty of the University of Hong Kong.

Moving from industry to the finance world, he was the regional shipping analyst at JP Morgan and then a senior shipping analyst for Tufton Oceanic, the largest shipping hedge fund, before joining Jefferies as their Head of Regional Transport and Industrials Research for the Asia Pacific region. Johnson is a graduate of Maersk Shipping Academy and HKUST, and holds an INSEAD MBA.

Huan went to Tokyo in 2012 as one of the founding partners of Mujin responsible for product development. He grew up in Shanghai and earned a Master's Degree and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States. Huan is currently serving on Mujin's Board of Directors and is responsible for Mujin's operations in China.

Since its founding, Mujin’s mission has been to increase the world productivity by making industrial robots truly autonomous. Mujin’s teachless technology enables industrial robots to become more intelligent and easier to use, extending their range of practical applications. Mujin-powered industrial robot systems have been successfully deployed in factories and warehouses of market leaders of logistics and manufacturing industries around the world.

In 2017, Mujin helped Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com build the world’s first fully-automated warehouse in Shanghai. In 2016, Mujin won the 7th Robot Award from the Minister of Economy, the first startup company to achieve Japan's highest robotics award. In 2018, the Japan Venture Award and JSME Medal for New Technology were given to Mujin to recognize its innovation. In 2019, Mujin was awarded the 61st Ten Greatest New Product Award - Japan Brand Award.

In 2019, Mujin, Inc (Guangzhou) was established in Guangzhou, China, marking Mujin’s official entry into China.

Coleman Nee is a Senior Economist in the Economic Research and Statistics Division of the World Trade Organization. He is responsible for producing the organization's trade forecasts and composite trade indicators including the Goods Trade Barometer (formerly the World Trade Outlook indicator) and the Services Trade Barometer. He also contributes to several WTO publications including World Trade Report and the World Trade Statistical Review. Before coming to the WTO Mr Nee worked for the Ontario (Canada) Ministry of Finance on electricity sector restructuring, for the International Energy Agency on energy balances and forecasts, and for the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development on labour market developments in OECD countries. He holds degrees from McGill University in Montreal and Carleton University in Ottawa.

Abhishek is the Global Head of Shipping Finance for Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited. He has been with the Bank since 2007 and involved in originating, structuring and executing transactions globally, a lot of which have won industry awards. Abhishek started his career as a Ship Navigating Officer and spent about six years at high seas post, during which he did completed his management degree. Prior to joining the banking industry, he held a wide range positions where he was able to cultivate a strong industry network: from being a first officer at sea, a general manager in an IT company to being a part of the core strategy team at a global shipping line in Hong Kong. His first-hand experience in operations, marketing, business strategy and finance has helped him build the Bank’s shipping finance business from ground up. He also made it to the ‘Lloyd’s List Next Generation 2012 Most Influential People in the Shipping Industry’.

Abhishek holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Nautical Sciences from the University of Mumbai and an MBA from the Indian School of Business in India.

Dr Stopford is Non-Executive President of Clarkson Research Services Limited (CRSL) and Director of MarEcon Ltd, an e-learning business. He is visiting Professor at Cass Business School, Dalian Maritime University and Newcastle University and has an Honorary Doctorate from Solent University. His publications include “Maritime Economics” 3rd Ed, the widely-used shipping textbook (2009), now translated into Japanese, Greek, Portuguese, Turkish and Chinese. Also, many papers on shipping economics and ship finance.

He received various awards: Lloyds List Lifetime Achievement Award 2010; Seatrade Global Shipping Personality of the Year 2013; Onassis Prize for Shipping 2015, and Capital Link Shipping Leadership Award 2016.
