He is also board member of MTR Corporation Limited, Airport Authority Hong Kong and Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation; as well as member of the Council for Sustainable Development and Economic Development Commission.

Mr Chan received his bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of Hong Kong, master's degree in medical physics from the University of Aberdeen, UK, and master's degree in business management from the University of Hong Kong.

Frank Coles is known as a disruptor and visionary business leader, who has been leading the maritime industry into the new technology-driven world.

Starting off as a deck officer after 12 years at sea Frank came ashore as a Master Mariner. He read for a LLM in Legal Aspects of Maritime Affairs from Cardiff University, Wales.

In 1995, Frank started as an Operations Director at Pacific Basin Bulk Shipping. During this period Pacific Basin had invested in Rydex, the leading company at the time in email software for maritime communications. Frank became CEO of Rydex while continuing in the operations role with PB.

During 1998-1999, Frank was a Vice President Business Development at Sperry Marine. In 1999, Frank took on the role of Chief Operating Officer at Globe Wireless, where in 2003 he had been appointed CEO, President, and board member.

Between 2011 and 2014 Frank worked at Inmarsat. Joining as a Director in 2011, by the end of the year, Frank had been promoted to President of the newly formed Inmarsat Maritime business unit.

In 2015, Frank Coles became the CEO of Transas, a world leader in high-tech equipment, software and system integration for the maritime industry. Transas was acquired by Wartsila Corporation in May 2018. After the transaction was complete, Frank left Wartsila.

Frank was headhunted to join the Wallem Group as Chief Executive Officer in October 2018. He has set an agenda of renewing the brand, and a path and vision for Wallem to be the leading provider of technology-driven maritime solutions in a customer-centric and transparent manner.

Frank is a Freeman of the Honourable Company of Master Mariners. He also is a trustee of the Nautical Institute as well as a Fellow of the Nautical Institute.

She joined the HKTDC in 2010 as Deputy Executive Director, responsible for the international promotion of Hong Kong’s product and service industries and the Council’s office network worldwide.

Ms Fong has worked in a variety of public service posts, beginning her career as an Administrative Officer with the Hong Kong Government. From 1997 to 1999, she served as Deputy Director-General in the Washington Economic and Trade Office of the Hong Kong SAR Government.

She was Deputy Secretary for Transport from 1999 to 2004, Director-General of the Washington Economic and Trade Office from 2004 to 2006, and Commissioner for Economic and Trade Affairs, USA, from 2006 to 2008, representing the Hong Kong SAR Government in the United States. Before joining the HKTDC, Ms Fong was the Commissioner for Tourism from November 2008 to December 2009. She is a graduate of the University of Hong Kong.

Ms Fong is a member of the Aviation Development and Three-runway System Advisory Committee, the Film Development Council, the Hong Kong Maritime and Port Board, the Hong Kong Logistics Development Council and the Hong Kong Tourism Board.

Mrs Gruber is leading IATA’s Cargo governing bodies, comprised of airlines and air cargo supply chain stakeholders that provide the regulations for the air transportation of Live Animals, Perishables and Healthcare Products. She is secretary to the IATA Live Animals and Perishables Board and the Time and Temperature Working Group.

Mrs Gruber developed and implemented for the industry three Center of Excellence (CEIV) quality audit programs certifying the handling and transport of pharmaceuticals, live animals and perishable products based on IATA, national and international requirements and standards.

Prior to working with IATA Mrs Gruber worked at the International Road Transport Union (IRU) as head of a division implementing, at the Customs and business level, tools to assist the application of risk management.

Mrs Gruber studied in Geneva at the University and at the Graduate Institute of International Studies (I.U.H.E.I.) and holds a Master of Sciences in International Relations.

Ms Ho has been working in supply chain and international logistics arena since 90’s responsible to introduce and manage Asia Pacific supply chain management for leading multinational companies. She leads the companies to drive continuous adjustment on supply chain management in order to meet different market needs and channels needs for driving the company's growth. Ms Ho current position is the Principal Consultant for GS1 Hong Kong, a worldwide supply chain standards body, leading the professional services team to provide supply chain and logistics management trainings, manage APEC or local government supply chain initiatives as well as provide business consultation services. Ms Ho is also a Part-time lecturer for Hong Kong University and Vocation Training Council on International Logistics & Supply Chain Management.

Since 90s, Ms Ho has set up Asia Pacific supply chain function for various multi-national corporations. She has introduced supply chain strategies from network balancing, production optimization, value-added logistics and efficient consumer response to corporations. Ms Ho is currently leading GS1 professional services team, has trained over 1000 trainees over years, spoke over hundreds events on modern logistics and supply chain for government, industry associations or companies, managed over hundreds of projects from government to individual company across countries.

Ms Ho obtained Master Degree in Industrial Logistics, Degree in Management, SCOR-P, CSCP Certification, PMP, Registered Lean Master, Accredited Global Traceability Auditor, Authorized Global Traceability Global Trainer. A keen yachtsman and Master Mariner, Bjorn worked his way up through the ranks, from military service in the Royal Danish Navy to Captain of one of the largest container vessels in the A.P. Moller - Maersk merchant fleet, before moving into shore-side management.

Bjorn is the current serving Deputy Chairman of the Hong Kong Shipowners Association and a council member of INTERTANKO, in addition to holding other notable roles at various industry and professional bodies.

Gabriel holds a Bachelor in International Trade from the National Polytechnic Institute in Mexico, an MSc Transport Engineering and Operations from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in the UK, and an MSc (honours) Transport and Maritime Management from the University of Antwerp in Belgium. From 2001 to 2014, Dr Lau was based in Hong Kong where he first worked at international law firms Baker McKenzie and Skadden Arps, and later entered investment banking at UBS AG and China Construction Bank (CCB) International where his last post held was as Managing Director, Head of Mergers & Acquisitions and Assistant Head of Investment Bank.

Prior to joining the HKTDC in 2019, Dr Lau was the CEO of a digital infrastructure company, Director of Investments at the Malaysian Government's sovereign wealth fund Khazanah Nasional, and Board Director and Investment Committee Member of venture and private equity fund Xeraya Capital. He has successfully handled numerous commercial transactions, joint ventures, restructurings and capital market exercises, and is recognised as a seasoned banker, investor and dealmaker in the region. He has deep knowledge of Hong Kong, Mainland China and ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) markets and has also worked with many clients and parties from Europe, the Americas and Middle East.

Dr Lau graduated with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery and Bachelor of Laws degrees with first-class honours from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, where he attended medical school and law school concurrently. He oversees the Council’s Mainland China and international activities that promote Hong Kong products and services.

Mr Liang joined the HKTDC in 1996 as Manager, Service Promotion. In 2000, he was posted to the Council’s Singapore office to oversee the Southeast Asian market. Mr Liang was promoted to Head of Mainland Promotions in 2005, managing the HKTDC’s promotional activities in Mainland China. Before taking up his current post, he served as Director, Product Promotion.

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Mr Liang graduated from York University in Canada with a Bachelor of Sociology degree. He then furthered his studies on Business Administration at the University of California, Los Angeles in the US.

Mr Liang began his career with the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) and Hong Kong Industrial Technology Centre (now called the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation). While at the HKTB, he served as its representative on the US West Coast for more than four years.

He joined the Royal Nedlloyd Group in 1990 as Management Trainee in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

After assignments in São Paulo (Brazil), Seoul (South Korea), and Hong Kong (China), Robbert was appointed Director, Global Network and Equipment Flow Management in P&O Nedlloyd's head office in London (United Kingdom) in 2005.

Following the acquisition of P&O Nedlloyd by A.P. Moller—Maersk A/S, Robbert joined Maersk Line's head office in Denmark as Vice President in charge of the Latin American Services in 2006.

Early 2008 he assumed responsibility for the West and Central Asia Region, stationed in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In January 2011, he assumed management of the Latin American Region, stationed in Panama City, Panama.

Since July 2015, he took over as Regional Chief Executive of North Asia and was merged with Asia Pacific Region in 2016. Effective January 2016, his responsibilities also include Chairmanship of Sealand Asia, a Maersk Company, the Group’s Intra-Asia Carrier.

Robbert holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from his native country the Netherlands.
