Speakers

Mr Mike Fang, Head of Asia Pacific & NTS, Damco Freight Forwarding & Former Vice President, Head of Greater China, Maersk Line

The ALMC is a great event with a very strong turnout. I am attending the conference for the first time. The forums cover a wide range of topics with a strong lineup of speakers. With Hong Kong playing a very important role in facilitating the development of the logistics and maritime industries, this event helps to strengthen Hong Kong’s position as a hub for regional trade.

The organisers have done a fantastic job and I really appreciate the dedication of the professional staff.

Mr Zhong Cheng, Deputy General Manager, China Railway Container Transport Corp Ltd

The ALMC is a meaningful event, bringing together so many representatives from different sectors to share new ideas and insights. The plenary session featured leaders from the rail freight, maritime and air freight sectors with very useful discussions on the latest market trends.

In this globalised business environment, it is important to build strong connections and gain strength from different sectors to drive our businesses forward. The conference is a great place to meet old friends and network with industry players. We can work together to help foster the industry’s growth.

Mr Sebastien Gendron, Co-Founder and CEO, TransPod

The conference enables effective networking and encourages us to explore innovative solutions for the industry’s development. We need to embrace change and pursue innovation continuously with a learn-by-doing approach if we want to do better in the future.

Exhibitors

Mr Michael Inman, Director, Business Development, Port of Prince Rupert, Canada

We’re excited to be here promoting the Port of Prince Rupert, the third-largest port in Canada. Hong Kong is really the hub for the maritime and shipping industry in Asia and a regional hub for doing business.

The ALMC serves as a good platform to network with people and establish connections. This is a strong showcase with a series of forums covering a diversity of topics. It’s a successful conference that helps us strengthen relationships with existing customers as well as find new partners.

Ms Joe Kyung-Eun, Manager, International Business Department, Busan Port Authority, Korea

This is our second year of participation in the ALMC to promote Busan Port, the largest port in Korea. The response has been good this year. We’ve been in touch with at least 10 companies from Hong Kong, Mainland China, Japan and Europe − engaged in various shipping, logistics and software development businesses − to study possible cooperation.

We find the conference to be a useful platform to seek out partners for expansion.

Mr Billy Lee, Sales Manager, Kerry Logistics

This is our third year taking part in the ALMC. We have met with many potential partners and customers through the business-matching meetings this year, including a Hong Kong F&B company, a Japanese trucking firm, a port authority from South Korea, a Canadian airport operator and two logistics companies from Guangzhou and Turkey. We are positive about pursuing business cooperation with them.

Participants

Mr Prosper Edewhosa, Managing Director/CEO, The Havilah Maritime Services, Nigeria

ALMC is one of the best conferences I have ever attended. It offers an excellent opportunity to network with different industry players, especially shipping-related companies.

We are very impressed by the mix of exhibitors. We have established contacts with many companies and will explore cooperation opportunities with them. This really is a wonderful event.

Ms Ghanyapad Tantipipatpong, Chairman, Thai National Shippers’ Council, Thailand

This is my first time participating at the ALMC and it has been an amazing experience. The conference is very informative, keeping me abreast of the latest logistics and maritime developments. The plenary session on boosting Asian connectivity is very insightful. I have also gained a lot of market intelligence from different sessions, including the latest e-commerce trends, the development prospects for shipping lines and even the expected emergence of larger-sized vessels.

The conference offers a great opportunity for me to understand Hong Kong’s logistics and maritime advantages, and how to harness its professional services to boost the export business of Thailand. This helps us plan future development strategies.

The ALMC is a must-go event with a series of interesting forums. I am now in touch with two Hong Kong exhibitors at the conference to explore cooperation in data analysis and business integration services. I really like this conference and would like to participate again.
