With 320 million Chinese Mainland citizens now over 60, age-friendly food manufacturers are segmenting and specialising like never before.

To implement Provisions on Supervision and Administration of Food Safety Roles and Responsibilities of Livestreaming E-commerce Operators and Provisions on Supervision and Administration of Food Safety Roles and Responsibilities of Online Food Sales Operators, on 17 September the State Administration for Market Regulation released its Food Safety Control Lists.

On 8 September, the General Administration of Customs (GAC) issued optimised suitability inspection measures for containers used to transport exported perishable and frozen foods. These will take effect on 1 October. The inspection regime will be optimised from “enterprise pre-inspection + customs random inspection” to “enterprise compliance assurance + customs review and random inspection” in accordance with conformity assessment procedures under the Law on Import and Export Commodity Inspection.

Indonesia has introduced stricter controls on imported halal products through BPJPH Regulation No. 4 of 2026, issued on 10 August 2026 and effective 30 days later. The regulation requires documentary and physical inspection in the country of origin and/or country of loading before shipment and before customs declarations are submitted. Physical inspections must be conducted at the loading warehouse by bodies designated by Indonesia’s Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH).
